A FESTIVAL FOODIE – WHAT IS THE DAMAGE?

So, as you guys well know by now, I love food. With this last weekend being the Isle of Wight Festival I thought I would document my Festival journey and see just how much impact it has…

As you may know, if you follow me on Instagram, I smashed my June Goals. I had planned to lose 4.5lbs, get back into running and make complete a yoga flow at least twice per week. Happily, I achieved all of these. Although I am only slowly getting back into running for fear of re-injuring my ankle, unbelievably, I managed to lose 6.5lbs in 3 weeks. To be fair, I tried hard and I was busy. This meant that I had less time to think about food. The results have still been a little shocking though.

The best thing is how happy I feel about myself right now. When I started this weight loss attempt (probably number 6598) I never thought I would get this far. This year for the festival, the weather is forecast to be hot. I now feel I can wear what I like (within reason!) without feeling self-conscious. This, of course, means that I can just focus on having a great time.

As I mentioned in my previous food Friday post, I tend to go for rice and noodle dishes at festivals and in the years that I have been doing so, I have found that my weight gain has been minimised. However, I have been known to indulge in chips, burritos and wraps, all with higher syn values.

And here is me, eating, and thoroughly enjoying chips.

So, how was it and how did it go?

This year, my weekend menu included lots of treats. Buttered crumpets, Chinese and Thai food, fish and chips, sausage rolls and late night crisps and chocolate. It’s safe to say I enjoyed food without restriction this weekend.

I ended up weighing myself Thursday morning, exactly one week since the discovery that I had lost a grand total of 21lbs. This time the scales showed a weight 3lbs heavier than last time. I was pleased with my reaction as I didn’t feel at all disappointed. I just felt good and keen to move on. Of course, thinking and doing are two different things.

The challenge now is to actually get back on track and continue working towards my goals. If you are interested in following that journey you can follow me on Instagram @missamyrach and subscribe to my Youtube Channel to never miss my Food Friday videos. 1. I always over-indulge at festivals! It can be so difficult to resist all the lovely food on offer sometimes. I’ve said it before, but you seem to have a really healthy attitude to weight loss and I’m really enjoying reading your posts. In fact, I’ve been enjoying your blog so much that I’ve nominated you for The Mystery Blogger Award! There’s absolutely no pressure to do it – I just wanted to let you know that your blog is great!
