Hello everyone and welcome to another Get Ready With Me. Today I am using the Primark PS… Gold Rush Eyeshadow Palette. This isn’t the first time I have used the palette but it is only the second. So far I have very much enjoyed it but today it is time to create a different look. Let’s see what we can come up with.
So, this palette contains nine shades, 3 of which are matte and 6 shimmery metallic. I am such a sucker for this type of palette. It gives me all of the sun goddess feels and I love creating warm golden looks on myself during the summer months. Think Charlize Theron in the J’adore advert. YES!
Anyway, I haven’t got a great deal to say about the palette as my overall impressions (after using it twice at this stage) are similar to the norm when it comes to Primark eyeshadows. For £4, this is a great value product. The packaging is clean, simple and attractive with the white and gold colour scheme. It has a flip up lid but doesn’t include a mirror. Having said that, I don’t remember any of Primark’s palettes having a mirror…
I love the colours included and although the mattes are a little powdery, they blend nicely and have good pigmentation. The metallic shades are also gorgeous but the strength of the pigmentation varies. Two of the shades are stronger than the others but they are all buildable so it is possible to achieve a greater depth of colour.
For a day to day palette, this is lovely. For evening time and a stronger look, spritzing your makeup brush with some fixing spray will dampen and intensify the shades so improves the versatility of the palette as a whole. If you haven’t been able to tell by now, this gets a thumbs up from me. Yes, it could be better but at £4 it is a fantastic addition to any makeup lover’s collection. If you see one and are in need of some summer goddess vibes, find an untampered with palette (not always an easy task in Primark!) and get that beauty to the til.
