Slimming World – Week 4

I feel like I have become a chocolate zombie… no, not a zombie made of chocolate… the other way around.

Imagine a red eyed zombie, jaw open and snapping inanely on nothing but the thought of something tasty, frenziedly (albeit by lumbering) grasping at terrified humans who try to remain just out of reach but are backed into a dark corner with no method of escape…

Well, that has been me on the hunt for leftover Christmas chocolates… Marks & Spencer and Lindt have a lot to answer for, as does my mum for buying them for me, although this secretly contributes to why I love her so much of course. She buys me chocolate, what’s not to love!

It has, however, been good to feel back on plan this week, well mostly… Although the thought of chocolate has rarely vacated my hankering mind,  other than a takeaway Friday and a few too many chocs on Sunday, I’ve been an angel and it is nice to feel like I have been good to myself. Have struggled a little as have been struck with a hideous cold but I think staying on plan has helped me to avoid feeling too lethargic.

Result: So turns out that I’m now 7 and a half lbs down from my starting weight… what on earth!? Especially as it has been ‘star’ week… weird. Do any of you experience unprecedented results like this? I fully expected to have regained the 3 lbs that I had lost during the first two weeks but 2.5 more have disappeared! Although I’ve been a chocolate monster, there have been a few days where I haven’t had much appetite and haven’t eaten much… so I suspect that the loss is related to a loss of water and, therefore, am not expecting a loss next week. But hey, who knows.

A happy note for this week is related to being off plan last week and how I got back on the wagon. There have been no negative thoughts and I haven’t found myself sat around wishing I had stuck to plan last week. Yes, being off plan delays any weight loss, but this is life, life happens and I found I was able to move on which is the important bit. It’s pretty empowering to be able to manage ones thoughts in such a way, but the next step is transferring that empowerment into controlling the chocolate cravings I have been suffering and reduce the consequential syn intake!
