Yes, this a bit late in the day, but if you are anything like me, as the 2017 advent calendars become available, you will find yourself researching previous offerings. Hence, I hope this review will prove useful and if Tanya’s 2016 beauty advent calendar is anything to go by, 2017 shouldn’t disappoint…
First impressions are good. The packaging is pink, mint, gold, grey and glitter, which all come together as a lovely, wintery picture of a house. Notably, as an added detail, if you look closely you can see Tanya, Jim and Martha at home.
The products in this calendar are all very Christmas party inspired and, as a little something extra, are limited edition. As a 12 days of Christmas calendar, there are 12 individual goodies to be discovered behind pretty numbered doors.
The products contained are:
3 x Nail Polishes in Glitter Rain (Silver), Sleigh Bells (Red) and Glitter Gold (Gold)
2 x Lip Gloss in Aurora and Berry Pavlova
1 x Matte Lip in Christmas Stocking
2 x Glitter Pots in Snow Day (white sparkle) and Champagne Sparkle (Gold)
2 x Glitter Eyeliners in Ice Crystals (Silver) and Treasured (Gold)
1 x Cosmetic Mirror
1 x Nail File
Furthermore, what struck me initially was the beautiful presentation of the individual items. While the mirror and nail file fit the pastel theme, the gorgeously timeless colours of the nail, eye and lip products are presented in attractive gold packaging. As a result, many of the contents look expensive and classy.
To use, the polishes are vibrant and lovely, the lip products opaque with staying power, and the glitter pots shimmeringly perfect for a party look. The liners are more subtle but are pretty and add a touch of sparkle. All in all, each products is ideal for your Christmas make up bag.
The RRP for the calendar is £25 and it was available on offer for some time at £15. Therefore, having found mine online at Superdrug for just £12, it was an absolute bargain. To be fair, I would probably purchase it at full price at a push because the quality of the products makes it worth it. Let’s hope for similar deals next year because I will certainly be looking out for what Tanya has in store for us next Christmas!
